What do bees do?

Bees are fascinating creatures that play a critical role in our ecosystem. What do bees do? Pollinate flowers, of course! But did you know that honeybees also produce honey and beeswax? In fact, bees are the only insect that produces food eaten by humans. Honey is a natural sweetener with antibacterial properties, and beeswax is used in cosmetics, furniture polish, and candles.

What is special about a bee?

Bees are interesting and important insects that contribute to our environment in many different ways. Bees can pollinate crops, make honey from pollen which is useful for food preservation or treatment of diseases such as cancer; they clean up debris by removing dead animal species so we don't have pesky mold growing on it!

Why do bees sting?

Bees can sting if they feel threatened or disturbed. This is a natural response for the bee, and you don't need to worry about it! Bees use their stings as anaphylactic shock tactics because of this same reason a self-defense mechanism that allows them only minutes to escape from danger before being eaten alive by your average insectivore (or person).

What do you do if a bee lands on you?

If a bee lands on you, remain calm and wait for it to leave. If the insect won't fly away or move off with its own accord then gently brush off any bees that land onto your skin using paper so they can continue living their lives elsewhere while not being pestered by people who don?t understand how important these animals are!

What is a honey bee called as?

The European honey bee or Western Apis as it's known around the world has been prized for centuries by humans who enjoy both its sweet taste and versatile nature. The name "Apis" is Latin meaning 'bee' while "Mellifera" translates into English as ?bearing honey? referring to this species of insect producing runny gooey stuff that you can wear on your head!

What are the three types of beehives?

There are three main types of beehives in use today; the Langstroth, the Warre, and the Top Bar.

1. Langstroth hive - any vertically modular beehive that has the key features of vertically hung frames, a bottom board with entrance for the bees, boxes containing frames for brood and honey, and an inner cover and top cap to provide weather protection.

2. Warre hive - a vertical top bar hive that uses bars instead of frames, usually with a wooden wedge or guide on the bars from which the bees build their own comb, just like they do in nature.

3. Top bar hive - the oldest and most commonly used hive style in the world. It features individual bars laid across the top of the hive cavity.

How long will a beehive last without a queen?

Around four to six weeks

There are many reasons why a honeycomb might go queenless, but the most common is when she leaves or dies. Without her presence in charge of colony life-and with no new bees added into the mix, your hive will eventually die out from lack of population growth due to breeding inactivity.

The lifespan for drones (the male portion) ranges between four and six weeks; however, without Queens, there can be no more prospering generation after them!

5 Fun Facts About Bees
